Ayn Rand & Paul Ryan’s Shriveled Compassion

Ayn Rand,1
You have inspired Paul
To take up the call
So the majority will fall
Into the poverty trap.
Ryan has lioned this cause
With nary a pause
To bandage with gauze
All our safety nets.
He rebukes the poor
Wants them out the door
While many see him whore
For the heavy with wealth.
Now he wants to run
as president for one
Who will cut our funds
In the public trust.
He’s now pushing the line
Of an image, kind
So the people will find
Him to have appeal.
Ayn Rand,
He’ll shrug like an Atlas for you,
With muscles not sized in a zoo
but not to lift weights for you,
in any helpful fashion.
Though said to have belief
He won’t offer you relief
From poverty’s worst grief,
But kick out chairs of despair.
Ayn Rand,
Atheist you can be,
It’s not a fault he’ll see,
Just pay his no-fault fee
justifying lack of heart.
Ayn in fact’s the patron
Of GOP men and matrons
Having apparent hatred
Of the very poor.
And middle class don’t brag
Rand treated you like hags
Wanting to take away your bags
Of government goods.
The rich are another matter,
Grants & gratis make them fatter
Without welfare they’re mad as hatters
And Paul will make it so.
Always playing the wonkish role,
For any independent poll
sees a character with no soul
Body strong and fiber weak.
Paul’s not himself they say
Ayn Rand has pitched his hay
And is his love to stay
‘Cept his visage in his mirror.

  1. Ayn Rand was a novelist, an atheist, and a philosopher, especially beloved by libertarians and free-market advocates. Her belief in “rational self-interest” saw virtue in greed and evil in altruism. Her philosophy helped justify the conservative agenda of reverse Robin Hood, giving to the rich and taking from everyone else. Republicans, including Paul Ryan, like to parrot her ideas in calling the rich job creators or makers and anyone receiving from the government are takers except the rich.
