Ukrainian Defense Ministry to allocate UAH 14 bln for arms development in 2015
UAH 14 billion will be allocated from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s budget of UAH 44.6 billion for the development of weapons for the army in 2015, and nearly UAH 2 billion will be spent on the training of Armed Forces personnel, Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has said.
According to Poltorak, of this amount, UAH 28.7 billion will be used for the maintenance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, UAH 14 billion for arms development, and UAH 1.9 billion for the training of army personnel.

Ukraine to increase army strength to 250,000
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry intends to increase the strength of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and has prepared a state defense order not only for 2015, but also for the next two years, Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has said.
Poltorak noted that Ukraine had drawn up a state program for the development of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and had prepared a modern army provision strategy.He said that it was planned to increase the strength of army personnel from 232,000 to 250,000 people, as well as to create six mechanized brigades, a mountain infantry regiment, three artillery brigades and two army aviation brigades.
