Ukrainian Defense Ministry drawing up program on basic military training of persons liable for military service
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry is drawing up a program on basic military training of persons liable for military service including training staff for guerrilla, sabotage and intelligence networks, the ministry’s press service has reported, citing the defense minister’s adviser, Oleksandr Danyliuk. Experts of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are engaged in drafting this strategy.
The program is based on the principle of territorial defense, the defense of populated localities and the protection of especially important public facilities.
Also, as part of the program it is planned to resolve the task of training staff for guerrilla, sabotage and intelligence networks who will be involved in the event of the occupation of certain territories of Ukraine, in the event of open aggression against our state,” reads the report.
The experience of the organization of national defense of the leading countries is used in drafting the strategy. In particular, it is planned that a kind of “basic training” will be mandatory for every citizen of Ukraine.
The program for women will be developed with an emphasis on civil defense and medical training.The first experimental groups will be selected in big cities in the near future.
