TweetHuge turmoil in Libya. Today the Zentan tribe (Berbers in western mountains) said that they no longer recognized the GNC (puppet government) and gave it 5 hours to dissolve. The Zentan said that they would protect the Libyan people. The response was a deafening silence and then there was a huge meeting of all Al Qaeda in Libya at the Mitiga airport home of Abdulhakem Belhaj (leader of Al Qaeda in Libya and John McCain's best friend). Joining them was none other than Ayman al-Zawahiri, head of al-Qaeda who arrived in Tripoli today.
Al Qaeda is now planning a war against the Zentan tribe. The Misurata militias also declared war today but not too sure against whom, probably Zentan.
The Zentan tribe is about 40,000 strong. The history here is, the Zentan tribe are the old Berber pirates. They are junk yard dogs. They stole all the money out of the Central bank in Tripoli at the end of NATO blowing up the country. They hold Saif Ghadafi, the possible next real leader of Libya. They are fierce fighters and well armed. They are divided into 3 factions, one faction is for the Green Patriot resistance (back to Jamahiriya). One faction is in the middle and one faction is Islamic extremists. The middle faction has now joined the first faction to support the Green Patriotic resistance. The third faction of extremists may join Al qaeda and fight against their own tribe no one really knows, but they are a small group.
The Zentan got themselves into a box, they would not step up for a long time and took no side while they watched al Qaeda rape the country. The bad Zentan also took part in many of the atrocities. Consequently, not too many of the tribes want to help them. But, again they are very well armed, they are very well funded and they are mountain people from the West.
Today in Tripoli they are preparing for something bad…the Tripoli airport is shut down with tanks around it and tanks on the road to the airport, there tanks in front of the GNC building and around Tripoli. Inside Tripoli they say it is eerily quiet. The calm before the storm.
Lastly, the criminals that are left in the GNC (all of them Al Qaeda or Muslim Brotherhood)put out an official warning (you will see a photo of the statement below in Arabic) to all the civilians that if they take to the streets they will be attacked by the Brotherhood or Al Qaeda groups with guns and other weapons. They are not allowed to speak out against the government.
Excuse me but isn’t this the very reason NATO blew up Libya? So the people could speak?
