Once again CIA and their super-expensive spy agencies and cyber surveillance were clueless when Russian commandos, posing as “gunmen”, quietly took over airport and government buildings in Crimea. Not the CIA, MI6 or other European spooks and cyber nerds saw Mr Putin coming! Again he proved to the world that he meant business when he identified the new government in Kiev as being the products of a fascist revolution and mobilized 150,000 troops on Ukraine’s borders.
Putin, who Forbes named the “Most Influential Person in the World,” was recently also named “Man of the Year,” by The Times, one of Britain’s most influential newspapers, as “Man of the Year” by Russia’s independent Levada Center for the sixth year in a row recently and nominated for Time magazine’s “Person of the Year” award, though that title was ultimately given to Pope Francis, who is known as the ‘People’s Pope, on December 11.
Yes, it has been a good year for the judo sixth dan Vladimir Putin, who has hip-flipped President Obama on Syria, wrestled the EU to the ground on Ukraine, tripped up the opposition at home and rescued weaker team players such as President Assad of Syria and Edward Snowden, the NSA whistleblower.
President Obama is undoubtedly jealous of this brash “presidential dictator”, who not only is stealing his spotlight, thunder, titles and awards (particularly when Putin climbed one spot ahead of Obama as Forbes’ 2013 “Most Influential Person in the World,” considering Obama held the title in 2012), but also has the absolute power in Russia Obama only wish he had here at home.
Putin pained as Peter The Great
Worse yet, Obama and his Western allies have been powerless to stop Putin, who has recently been frequently compared with Peter The Great. But they don’t have his dash or his amoral lack of concern for anything other than what he perceives to be Russia’s interests.
He has not been wringing his hands over Syria – a country he has repeatedly said should be left to make its own sovereign way (unlike Ukraine).
He has behaved with the total hypocrisy and certainty of purpose that made nations great in the 19th century. He has backed Bashar al Assad. He has backed Iran.
He also has the most influence in determining or at least shaping Iran’s nuclear future – and if Tehran gets the bomb, then making sure that he’s on the right side of its leadership.
As in Ukraine, the West is enjoying baying at the Russian bear from the moral high ground, but has no levers it can pull, either in the Middle East or in Crimea.
Threats of snubbing the G8 pow-wow in Sochi in June, even of economic sanctions, hardly matter to the Kremlin.
Moscow can cause economic mayhem in Europe just by turning off the gas taps.
Mr Kerry told the CBS program Face The Nation that there would be “very serious repercussions” for Moscow and said G8 nations and some other countries are “prepared to go to the hilt to isolate Russia” with an array of options.
“They’re prepared to put sanctions in place, they’re prepared to isolate Russia economically, the rouble is already going down. Russia has major economic challenges,” he said.
That may be true, but Mr Putin is already cracking his whip. He has bigger fish to fry. And his economy is the least of his concerns. Russia may have economic problems, but he knows rouble has less chance of crashing than the dollar!
Who is Vladimir Putin
Born in Leningrad, aka St. Petersburg, on Oct. 7, 1952, Putin grew up in a poor, communal apartment with his factory foreman father. In 1975, Putin received a degree from the law department at Leningrad State University joining the KGB that same year, beginning a long, successful career with Soviet intelligence.
Putin was not sought out and selected by elitists or groomed by a party, but he quickly got noticed, soon earning his way up the ranks.
Putin took a job at Leningrad State University in 1990, then held posts in St. Petersburg’s government in the early-to-mid 1990s.
In 1996, Putin moved to Moscow, thus enabling his rapid ascent to the top levels of Russian leadership. He managed to get posts in President Boris Yeltsin’s government, and eventually became head of the Federal Security Service, the agency that was essentially the successor to the KGB.
In August 1999, Yeltsin promoted Putin as acting prime minister. When Yeltsin resigned a few months later, he handed over the reins of power to the then-47-year-old Putin, who became acting president then won the presidency in his own right in a March 2000 election and a re-election four years later.
At the time, Russia owed $16.6 billion to the Rothschild-run International Monetary Fund while its foreign debt to the Rothschild-controlled Paris & London Club Of Creditors was over 36 billion dollars. But Putin took advantage of the current boom in world oil prices by redirecting a portion of the profits of Russia’s largest oil producer Gazprom to pay off the country’s debt. The continual surge in oil prices greatly accelerated Russia’s capacity to restore financial sovereignty. By 2006 Putin had paid off Russia’s debt to the Rothschilds. Russia’s financial dependence on the Mafia financiers was over. Putin then established what became his Russian Unity Party’s campaign slogan:Putin’s Plan Means Victory For Russia! This slogan continues to make the New World Order Bankers very nervous
Only because of term limits was Putin forced to hand over Russia’s top spot, but he was able to install a prime minister who was nothing more than Putin’s puppet, leading all to believe Putin still retained the ultimate power in Russia. In 2012, there would be no doubt who was in charge, as Putin once again was elected president.
However, Putin has not only grown throughout since he first stepped onto the International political arena, he has evolved from cold war warrior to strategic conqueror.
Putin’s Agenda
Obama is playing checkers while the Putin is playing chess, and as everybody knows, the Russians have always mastered the game of Chess.
Putin’s goal in a way is a good thing, considering he is preventing the Ukraine from joining the New World Order, even if he is wanting to bring it back to the Russian sphere of influence. He wants the Ukraine to join a Russian Customs Union with other former Soviet republics (like Belarus and Kazakhstan) even poorer and less democratic than Ukraine. But at least he is standing in the way of the Rothschild Central Banks!
The Ukrainians, however, are decidedly mixed. A recent poll showed 39 percent want to integrate with the EU, while 37 percent want to come closer to Russia. This major divide is helping to fuel tensions.
Maybe if Putin ups his offer and withdrawal of a $15 billion dollar loan and occupation of the Crimea is meant to bring Ukraine back under Russian influence?
Ukraine has become a pawn in a larger chess match that is Putin’s legacy. When Putin rode in on his white horse in 2000 after a disastrous Boris Yeltsin presidency, he called in his first Presidential address for restoring Russian power. Putin has recently been able to raise Russia’s profile in the world. Since the U.S. has partially withdrawn from the Middle East, Russia has been the big winner in Syria, Egypt and Iran.
Russia has a $2 billion dollar arms deal on the table with Egypt and is protecting Iran as it marches forward toward nuclear weapons.
The country has been lauded for its successful Olympic Games and Putin has even been mentioned by Forbes as the most powerful man in the world.
Yet, the future success of Russia is still up for debate.
Putin’s power base in Russia is shifting. While it used to be based on the educated classes in Moscow and Saint Petersburg now he’s shifting toward the less educated Russians in smaller towns and rural areas.
For example, there was a poll that showed 88 percent of Russian people don’t like homosexuals.
The Cold War was Never Over
Putin’s attack on the LGBT community consolidated his power base. Putin probably doesn’t care about homosexuality, but rather is tactful politician who tries to get political “wins” when he can. With a weak economy, he must turn to pandering to prejudices of his base. And Russian patriotism and revival of Russian power is his path to staying in power.
Obama is wrong: the Cold War was never over. But a lot has changed with Putin since the start of the Cold War and we have a lot of catching up to do.
Refusing to get involved in major international conflicts will only lead the United States in one direction: the revival of Russia as a great power which poses a direct challenge to the United States.
But at least Putin is not in league with the Rothschild elitists! In 2006 Putin had paid off Russia’s debt to the Rothschilds. So the question is, who should we be voting for? Pun would probably make a better US president than our recent Elitist puppets!
Currently there are seven countries without a Rothschild-owned Central Bank.
This is definitely a predicament!
