Vladimir Putin BLASTS Western enabling of Poroshenko “dirty games”

RT reported on November 28 that President Vladimir Putin had some very strong words about the clash between Russian and Ukrainian naval ships in the Kerch Strait this past Sunday and the actions taken since then by President Petro Poroshenko.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said the clash between Russian and Ukrainian military ships was a result of foreign nations’ failing to hold Kiev accountable for bad behavior as long as it remains confrontational towards Russia.

The remarks were the first made by the Russian leader since the confrontation in the Kerch Strait, a narrow passageway between the Black Sea and the Azov Sea, where a strategic bridge connecting Crimea with mainland Russia is located.
“The authorities in Kiev are selling anti-Russian sentiment with quite a success today. They have nothing else to do,” Putin said.
The Russian president said it seemed like Kiev could get away with anything as far as foreign nations supporting Ukraine’s anti-Russian stance were concerned.

By “foreign nations”, President Putin means the United States, Great Britain and to greater or lesser extents other NATO members. Ukraine has become an increasingly hot situation with the Western efforts to create conflict at the highest levels yet.
In an unusual combination of actions, the efforts by the West to seize Ukraine as the latest vassal state even involve the subversion of the Orthodox Church as it exists in that country, by replacing it with a pseudo-church made led by people who use Orthodox Christianity’s imagery as a front for globalist and quite frankly, anti-Christian progressive policy.
The Kerch Strait altercation appears to be signaling President Poroshenko’s willingness to escalate the conflict, and he used what appears to be a contrived incident as the base of provocative actions, such as the institution of martial law on about half of Ukraine’s territory.
These actions have brooked no response from the West – in fact, the news media outlets in the US have been largely silent about the whole matter, and UK papers more or less diminishing the story by pieces like this one from the Guardian, linked here.
President Putin went on in his statement, clearly expressing his outrage over this matter.

“If they demand babies for breakfast, they would probably be served babies. They’d say: ‘Why not, they are hungry, what is to be done about it?’ This is such a shortsighted policy and it cannot have a good outcome. It makes the Ukrainian leadership complacent, gives them no incentive to do normal political work in their country or pursue a normal economic policy.”
Putin said the incident, which ended in Russia’s seizure of three Ukrainian ships and Kiev imposing a partial martial law in the country, was a “dirty game” by Poroshenko, who needs to suppress his political opponents ahead of the March presidential election. He assured that the Ukrainian side was responsible for the escalation of tensions, since the incident was a deliberate and planned provocation by the Ukrainian Navy.
The Russian leader also defended the border guards, who stopped the Ukrainian ships from passing through the Kerch Strait, saying it was their duty as sworn service members to do so and that if they failed they could face a tribunal for defying an order.

The Ukrainian president placed his nation’s military on high alert. Mr. Poroshenko went on record saying that his country stands on the brink of war with Russia. This gained him some press coverage.
However, there is actually absolutely no threat of a military confrontation with Russia. Even the news media is increasingly aligned with this point of view, suggesting that the antics of the Ukrainian president are politically motivated and nothing more.
But this is a leader that has been causing increasing levels of disruption within his own country, and the imposition of martial law against half of it, including those regions that are culturally and linguistically aligned with Russia, is not likely to work out well.
