The United States has announced that it wants to keep more troops in Afghanistan than what was previously planned for 2015.
According the outgoing Pentagon chief, Chuck Hagel, 1,000 more troops would remain in Afghanistan, bringing the US troops level to a total of 10,800. The original plan was for 9,800 troops to stay in the country after 2014.
In this edition of The Debate, Press TV has conducted an interview with Rick Rozoff, manager of Stop NATO International Network from Chicago, and Frederick Peterson, congressional defense policy advisor from Washington, to see why 13 years after the US attack on Afghanistan, this country is still unstable and insecure.
