Eric Draitser of StopImperialism.org provides his commentary (April, 6, 2016) on the latest moves by the US to block a military deal between Russia and Iran using the sanctions and nuclear agreement as a pretext. Draitser explains that the sanctions were never really about a nuclear program, but rather were meant to prevent Iran from emerging as a regional power, and block it from growing its ties with non-western powers such as Russia and China.
