Turkey To Appoint Special Representative For Syria

Turkey is planning to appoint a special representative to specifically handle the Syrian dossier at the Foreign Ministry, private broadcaster NTV reported on Feb. 5.NTV did not name the special envoy but said he or she would be an experienced ambassador on Syria and the Middle East in general

Sedat Önal is covering all the rest with Syria, which dominates an important part of his agenda. With the appointment of a special envoy for Syria, his workload will be alleviated and the Syrian dossier will be run “better,” said NTV’s report.
