Commercial genetic tests are not only offered for genealogical research (population studies; with SNP tests), but also, for example, to identify allegedly genetic diseases (gene panel tests).
With the knowledge of constantly changing genes, so-called 'gene errors' also repair themselves and with knowledge of the cause of cancer (keyword: Ryke Geerd Hamer), the tests are to be seen in a very critical light and often result in fear/uncertainty and not infrequently in preventive measures (e.g. operations), since people trust a test result.
What is there to record about the DNA analyses?
- Of the samples submitted, not the entire genome is analyzed, but only certain genetic markers (approx. 2-3 million base pairs). It is merely a purely statistical analysis based on correlating markers for diseases (polygenic risk score)
or properties that are stored in a database.
-The result can differ significantly depending on the platform due to, among other things:
