February 13, 2014 (ATN) - Having spectacularly failed to defend the incompetent and now terminally ill regime of Thaksin Shinawatra and his nepotist proxy, sister Yingluck Shinawatra, the Western media has resorted to slander, gossip, and deferrals to discredited propagandists passed off as "experts." The British "Independent" newspaper, in their article, "Thai princess uses social media to ‘declare war’: Photos posted by Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol widely interpreted as a sign of her support for anti-government protesters," attempts to monkey the tweets of discredited hate-speech offender Andrew Marshall, formally of Reuters and now hired pen for Thaksin Shinawatra's lobbyist, Robert Amsterdam.Image: CNN, BBC, Foreign Policy magazine, and now the British Independent have all cited or afforded space to Andrew McGregor Marshall, a paid propagandist working for Robert Amsterdam, who daily engages in hate speech like that seen above - mocking a disabled man. That the West is deferring to people like Marshall indicates immense desperation from a dying Western media. Will the Independent claim they didn't know of Marshall's habitual hate-speech? Or will they merely claim that mocking disabled people is acceptable and that promoting the work of people who do so is in line with their policy? ....Even in the Independent's title, the term "widely interpreted" betrays the credibility of the report, exposing it as nothing but baseless speculation dressed up as a relevant news item. The article is riddled from start to finish with "weasel words" generally considered unacceptable in professional journalism, but of course, the "bread-and-butter" of the dying Western media. The Independent cites sources "who asked not to be named," the regime's "red shirt" enforcers, as well as Andrew Marshall himself - who has cut his narrative from whole cloth, with absolutely no documented evidence. Marshall neither lives in Thailand, nor possesses any conceivable line of communication with Thailand's Monarchy. His narrative, like others from the past, is buttressed with outright fabrications and second or even third-hand information from dubious sources, further manipulated to support his claims. It should also be noted that the Independent must by now know that Andrew Marshall has been exposed widely across Thailand for his hate speech, including the mockery of a double amputee and condescending remarks made toward an elderly woman. That the Independent dedicated an entire article to promote his "book," and peddle his discredited, baseless narrative, of which the Independent itself must disclaim with terms like "apparently" and "widely interpreted," indicates a level of desperation that has seized the Western media in general, as it fails to salvage the inevitable collapse of their Wall Street-proxy Thaksin Shinawatra. The original narrative revolved around Shinawatra being the defender of progressive democracy in Thailand - but with the regime overtly turning on the very people who put them into power, by first betraying campaign promises that have left its supporters destitute and desperate, to threatening them to cease attempts to seek compensation - the facade of Thaksin Shinawatra "defender of democracy," has wholly crumbled. What is left is slandering Thailand's revered indigenous institutions - a play that will resonate among an even slimmer minority, and expose the true intentions and designs of Thaksin Shinawatra and his Western backers' intentions toward the Southeast Asian kingdom. With the West fumbling across the world in a fateful flee forward - its disastrous and ever expanding missteps in Thailand are par for the course. Its vitriolic attack upon Thailand's revered institutions is meant to create anger and miscalculations among the victorious anti-regime forces. If the anti-regime movement maintains its discipline and adheres to its principles, this latest and most desperate attack, utilizing washed-out propagandists with no relevant readership, will dissolve into the nothingness from which it was contrived. For those who feel disheartened by the attacks of the West upon Thailand's revered institutions -continuing on and promoting the positive work these institutions have carried out to a wider audience is the best response - putting positive actions in place of their negative opponents mere slander and words.
