Stephen Gowans in Vancouver: A Public Forum on Syria

Sunday, June 25, 7-9 pm
Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House
800 East Broadway, Vancouver / Unceded Coast Salish Traditional Territories
Stop War Vancouver Presents: “Washington’s Long War on Syria”: A Public Forum with Stephen Gowans, Ottawa-based activist and author
Stephen Gowans runs the popular and widely read “What’s Left” webzine. His recent book, “Washington’s Long War on Syria” (published by Baraka Books) examines the historical record of the US strategy to impose regime change in Syria. This forum is particularly relevant at a time of escalating political and military tensions in the Middle East.
Donations will be collected at the door (requested $5 minimum, but nobody turned away) to cover the costs of travel and meeting room. Copies of Stephen Gowans’ book will be on sale at the forum.
Event organized by StopWar, Vancouver’s broad-based anti-war and social justice coalition. A list of co-sponsoring groups will be announced shortly.
