American singer-songwriter, poet and visual artist Patti Smith is the artist for this week's Soothing the Beast BFP/Jamiol's Music Pick. Called the "Godmother of Punk" Smith's work is a fusion of rock and poetry. Smith's most widely known song is "Because the Night", which was co-written with Bruce Springsteen but tonight on the Music Pick the song is Gloria.
