Poroshenko thanks U.S. for sending military to Ukraine
KYIV: Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has held a telephone conversation with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden.
This is reported by the presidential press service.
Poroshenko thanked Joseph Biden for sending American troops to Ukraine and conducting joint exercise “Fearless Guardian – 2015,” and also for his personal contribution to the realization of this project. “It is a new and important page that proved the strategic level of partnership between Ukraine and the United States,” the president said.
The parties have coordinated further actions in the sphere of defense, particularly on the provision of additional aid for Ukraine.
Vice President Biden informed about the readiness of the United States to grant Ukraine $1 billion in loan guarantees within the financial support in 2015. He also told about funding projects for the provision of humanitarian assistance to internally displaced persons and victims of the war in Donbas.
