First let me start out by saying when I read this news, Dave McGowan came right to mind!He would’ve loved this one! He would have jumped right on this news.Dave McGowan both spoke and wrote about the many, many ties between the entertainment industry (music, movie, etc.,) and the intelligence community. Mr McGowan would have certainly seen this epic Sean Penn adventure as yet another episode in the continuing real life saga of collaboration between the intelligence industry/entertainment business. Obviously, intelligence and entertainment are not mutually exclusive. I think Jay Dyer would also absolutely agree with thatOne last aside. I have always found Sean Penn super creepy.I'll bold/underline the interesting bits of course :)
MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - A secretive meeting that Hollywood star Sean Penn orchestrated with Joaquin "Chapo" Guzman in a jungle hideout late last year helped Mexico's government catch the world's most wanted drug lord, sources said. Guzman, the infamous boss of the Sinaloa drug cartel, was arrested in northwest Mexico on Friday morning, and sent back to the prison he broke out of in July through a mile-long tunnel that led straight into his cell.
Mexico aims to extradite Guzman to the United States as soon as possible. Penn's rare access to the capo was assisted by Mexican actress Kate del Castillo. They were driven some of the way to the hideout by Guzman's son, who the Hollywood star says was waved on by soldiers when they apparently recognized him.
The privilege afforded to celebrity has been, is and always will be useful for covert operations
Another leg of the day-long trip through central Mexico was on a light aircraft allegedly fitted with equipment to evade radar detection, Penn said in a story published in Rolling Stone magazine on Saturday. Penn said in the article that he was sure the Mexican government and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration was tracking him.
I'm sure the DEA was trackin' their man.In the beginning from the Rolling Stone piece:
In January 2012, the Mexican film and television star Kate del Castillo, who famously played a drug lordess in Mexico's popular soap opera La Reina del Sur, used Twitter to express her mistrust of the Mexican government. She stated that in a question of trust between governments and cartels, hers would go to El Chapo. And in that tweet, she expressed a dream, perhaps an encouragement to El Chapo himself..
Typical honey pot stuff. Why El Chapo? Are there no other drug lords she could lionize?
After reading Kate's statement on Twitter, a lawyer representing El Chapo Guzmán contacted Kate. He said El Señor wanted to send her flowers in gratitude. She nervously offered her address, but with the gypsy movements of an actress, the flowers did not find her.
She didn't give her correct address? Why would she? Also this appears to be hearsay. We then have the actress meeting with Espinoza- Espinoza connects the actress to Sean PennWho is Espinoza?: Sean Penn describes Espinoza and I definitely get the impression that Espinoza is an intelligence man, handling the Castillo/Penn team.
"I'm sitting in my room at the St. Regis Hotel with my colleague and brother in arms, Espinoza"
Sean Penn admitting he is an intelligence asset:
Espinoza and I have traveled many roads together, but none as unpredictable as the one we are now approaching. Espinoza is the owl who flies among falcons. (Owls and Falcons both being predators? Very poetic.) Whether he's standing in the midst of a slum, a jungle or a battlefield, his idiosyncratic elegance, mischievous smile and self-effacing charm have a way of defusing threat. His bald head demands your attention to his twinkling eyes. He's a man fascinated and engaged. We whisper to each other in code.
Finally a respite from the cyber technology that's been sizzling my brain and soul"
Despite the fancy writing- It's pretty obvious to me what Sean Penn's recounting is telling us.
I will discover that his already accomplished engineers had been flown to Germany last year for three months of extensive additional training necessary to deal with the low-lying water table beneath the prison. A tunnel equipped with a pipe-track-guided motorcycle with an engine modified to function in the minimally oxygenized space, allowing El Chapo to drop through a hole in his cell's shower floor, into its saddle and ride to freedom.
When and how does Sean Penn "discover" this? Is it during the meeting with El Chapo or was he informed of this by his handler?
"Now on 50th Street, Espinoza and I enter the Japanese restaurant. El Alto sits alone in a quiet corner, beneath a slow-turning ceiling fan that circulates the scent of raw fish. He's a big man, quiet and graceful, rarely speaking above a whisper. He'd (El Alto) been helpful to me on many previous excursions. He's worldly, well connected and liked. Espinoza, speaking in Spanish, fills him in on our plans and itinerary. El Alto listens intently, squeezing edamame beans one at a time between his teeth"
Translation: Espinoza the spy/spook, takes the spy/spook Sean Penn, to meet yet another spook/spy/agent. Sean Penn already KNOWS of El Alto because El Alto has been, according to Sean Penn 'helpful to me on many previous excursions"Back to the Honey Pot:
"Kate met Espinoza. She learned he was well connected to financial sources, including those that funded film projects, and she proposed a partnership to make a film about El Chapo. This was when Espinoza included our mutual colleague and friend El Alto"
Pretty young actress. Appeal to ego. Make a movie about a man she has lionized. Oh this is straight out of a hollywood movie plot!!!After El Chapo escapes. Sean Penn proposes the idea of doing a magazine story to his handler Espinoza- Seriously!
He (Espinoza) told me about Kate and that she had been intermittently receiving contact from Chapo even after the escape. It was then that I posed the idea of a magazine story. Espinoza's smile of mischief arose.
Four days later, on October 2nd, El Alto, Espinoza, Kate and I board a self-financed charter flight from a Los Angeles-area airport to a city in mid-Mexico. (What city in mid Mexico?) There is no question in my mind but that the DEA and the Mexican government are tracking our movements
Sean Penn- Intelligence Asset and El Chapo Read to your hearts content at either of the links above. I'm going to end the post with one final quote from Secret Agent Man's Rolling Stone article
"Four days later, I fly from Los Angeles to Lima, Peru, to participate in a World Bank panel discussion"
Sean Penn: Lifetime Actor, Spook, NGO President and Globalist. Just one more thing!I can see the movie now... Restoring Sean Penn's acting career- Bridging two cultures- Lots of box office dough to be made- Just watch it happen! Sean Penn's epic adventure simply begs for a song!Secret Agent Man of course ?! ;)
