Rushin’ To Destruction, 2019 In Review, Part 4-- Quotes Of The Year! Number One: Status Quo Joe Biden!

-by NoahMore often than not, I write about idiotic things uttered by republicans in my year end reviews. Face it. It’s too easy, an endless bounty of low-hanging fruit and all that. So why Joe Biden? Why not? He’s just a Republican with a ‘D’ next to his name, so yeah, why not, indeed.Howie writes a lot about Status Quo Joe so there’s no need for me to say much. I will say, though, I don’t want a president who’s going to show me how senile I might be in the last few years of my life. I have enough senior moments as it is already, but at least I’m living in the present day for better and for worse.I’ll just pick out one thing, one simple evidential quote from ol’ V.P. Biden and that’s his nonsensical November comment about marijuana being a gateway drug. It’s a very telling comment. It comes roaring right out of the 1930s. It’s Reefer Madness all over again. It’s something you’d expect from crazy old Pat Robertson. Saying marijuana might be a “Gateway Drug” is as old as the hills, just like Status Quo Joe himself. What better way to say to voters:

Hey! Look at me! I’m a living fossil!

Back in 2010, Status Quo Joe was asked if his negative position on legalizing marijuana had changed. Biden replied:

I still believe it’s a gateway drug… legalization is a mistake.

Then just a few weeks ago, Biden had the golden opportunity to announce to us all world that, like the rest of the sensible universe, he had “evolved” on the subject. After all the times they are a changin’, but not for Status Quo Joe. He made it clear that he is still of the same mind. He’s still a creature of the past. Joe Biden, meet 1936. Oh that’s right, you live there. It’s noteworthy that a few days after Biden did his Pat Robertson imitation, the House Judiciary Committee voted by a 24-10 majority to pass the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment And Expungement Act Of 2019 (M.O.R.E.) out of committee towards a vote by the full House. The bill, if passed, would decriminalize possession of marijuana at the federal level. Don’t expect the bill to pass in the Senate. The Senate is chock full of living fossils like Biden. Being frozen in the past seems to be a qualification that most in the Senate adhere to.Perhaps Status Quo Joe also just wanted to stand out among all of the 100 or so democrats that are running for the same job he wants. If that’s the case, well, he does stand out. He’s the only democrat running for his party’s nomination for the highest office in the land that isn’t 4-square for legalization of pot. 11 states have already legalized it and 33 states allow for its use for medical purposes. I wish my state was one of them but my state is run by another living fossil who might as well be a Republican, Governor Andrew Cuomo.Would it be nice to have a Democratic presidential candidate who’s anchored in reality. After Trump? You bet! Yes, absolutely! Hillary was bad enough.
