Peter B. Collins Presents Peter Hart from FAIR
In the opening days of Israel’s new war on Gaza and Hamas, the US media displays its bias almost daily. Peter Hart notes how ABC’s Diane Sawyer misidentified a grieving Palestinian family as Israeli; that Bob Schieffer of CBS commented on the fear felt by Israelis, with no concern expressed for Palestinians who’ve actually died; and that the reporting is riddled with imbalance regarding the value of the life of an Israeli versus the life of a Palestinian. Corporate outlets generally don’t challenge the shifting pretexts for the war that Israel has advanced: from the manipulated story of the 3 missing teenagers, to retaliation for Hamas rocket attacks, and recently the reported failure of Hamas to join the cease fire called by Egypt and Israel. Hart also talks about his recent study of the guests who appear on prime time cable news shows.
