New Georgian Commanders Presented To NATO Defense Attaches

New Commanders were represented to Defence Attaches

The meeting between newly appointed commanders and defence attaches accredited to Georgia was held at the General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces. Chief of General Staff of the GAF, Major General Vakhtang Kapanadze presented Colonel Levan Beria – Commander of Education and Military Training Command, Colonel Mamuka Tskhvediani – Commander of Army Logistics provision Command and Colonel Mamuka Shiukashvili – Head of J-5/9 Strategic Planning, Military Policy and Military-Civil Cooperation Department to the defence attaches and military representative of NATO Liaison Office to Georgia.
New heads of Commands and J-5/9 Department delivered information to the foreign diplomats on their future plans and talked about the implementation issues of NATO-Georgian Substantial Package. Military diplomats wished newly appointed heads every success and pledged them support.
The changes were performed by the rotation rule. New heads were selected by theSpecial Selection Council elected on their positions. All of them have many years of experience of working in the Georgian Armed Forces.
Colonel Levan Beria has been serving in the Georgian Armed forces since 1992. Since December, 2012 he had been commanding National Training Center “Krtsanisi”. In the various times he worked in the II Infantry Brigade of the GAF, J-3 Operative Planning Department of the Joint Staff and Operative Group –West of Land Forces Command.
Colonel Mamuka Tskhvediani has been serving in the GAF since 1995. He worked as a head of one of the division of J-4/8 Logistics and resources Planning Department. In 2007-2009 Colonel Tskhvediani served as a Head of J-4 Logistics Department.
Colonel Mamuka Shiukashvili works in the Georgian Armed Forces since 1993. In 2013-2014 he was a Senior Military Representative of the Georgian contingent in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Colonel Shiukashvili commanded Command and Staff College of Davit Agmashenebeli National Defence Academy as well.
