NATO military exercise gets underway in Hungary
BUDAPEST: The Capable Logistician 2015 (CL15) military exercise has got underway and will be running from June 1 to 26 at the Bakony Training Center in the hills of Western Hungary, the Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday.
Over 1700 foreign and domestic troops are involved in what promises to be the year’s biggest test of logistics abilities for the NATO forces and their partner countries.
Over the course of this week alone over 300 troops will be coming from about 20 countries, and will be operating nearly 250 pieces of military logistics equipment, which have not been specified.
The exercise is designed to offer uniform logistics support based on NATO principles while tightening up cooperation among the partner countries. As the host country Hungary is providing full security and the national support required of a host while taking the lead in some functional areas such as logistics information system operations.
The exercise will promote effective joint operations and cooperation among the NATO forces and partner countries, the ministry briefing read.
