Hrytsenko: Martial law in Donbas will ‘show up real shady business in time of peace’
A significant number of MPs support the introduction of martial law in Luhansk and Donetsk regions, independent MP Anatoliy Hrytsenko has reported.
“The firm advice from the factions representing the majority in parliament, says it is necessary to introduce a martial law. It brings more possibilities for controlling the situation, including all material flows,” he said at a program at 112 Ukraine TV channel on Monday.
Hrytsenko noted that several MPs had registered in parliament drafts decrees on the introduction of martial law.
“It’s clear that they didn’t have a legal effect, because only the president has the right to introduce a martial law,” Hrytsenko added.
However, he said that some top managers in Donbas are against martial law.
“They’re afraid of there will be more efficient or less efficient military actions. If martial law is introduced, the whole perimeter is surrounded and every wagon, every piece of raw stock, food, which is produced, will be checked…” he said.
