Missouri Governor Eric Greitens, a former Navy SEAL officer and Rhodes Scholar, was seen as a rising Republican star until he was forced to admit to an extra-martial affair dating back to 2015. He was accused of taking a compromising photo of the woman and blackmailing her with it (the photo was never discovered). A second criminal investigation resulted in charges that he improperly used a charity mailing list for fundraising during his political campaign.
