He may have been right about the conservatives of his day but today's conservatives do not even bother with the pretense of searching for "moral justification" or anything similar. However given what we can see of today's conservatives, it's more likely that Galbraith was afflicted by the disease of civility that has always made allowances for bad behavior. or, he was just being naive. One thing for sure is that today's conservatives have totally dispensed with even hints of pretense. To today's conservatives, "moral justification" effectively means entitlement or the justification for their greed. Hence the grab as much as you can from anybody and anywhere that you can attitudes of today's Republicans, aka the Greed Over People crew.
