by NoahLest we forget, Trump was not the first in government to be massively corrupt. It almost comes with the territory. The thing is, though, Trump is taking corruption to new heights in a massive way. He is pushing the envelope of corruption further and further than it has been ever pushed before. That's what happens when we let those who came earlier push the corruption envelope further than it had ever gone before their time. That's what happens when we let them get away with their corruption. Some other sleazebag is always going to come along in the future, take a look at the past as an example, and decide what they can get away with. Trump knows damn well that no punishment befell Dick Cheney; not for his financial greed or even his war crimes. To the criminal mind, that is known as permission. Hence Trump and his behavior. The biggest question that remains now is what happens if we let Trump walk free. Imagine what, or who, comes after that.
