by NoahWhen it comes to disturbing filth, it would be hard to top the current nightmarish coven of sickos and sociopaths that Trump has chosen to surround himself with, all during his morally devoid life. It's like watching those AMC American Gangster shows combined with episodes of "Mr. Robot." You hear all sorts of things about people who have been breathing the same air as you. Former Trump Campaign Manager Paul Manafort is one of those. Need some money laundered? Better call Paul! Need a sleazo deal with with some Russian mobster types? Better call Paul!I doubt that we will ever know how deep the corruption of Trump's crew goes and how extensive it is. Whatever we do eventually hear, bad as it will be, will be just the tip of the iceberg. The rest will be locked away in some archive for at least 50 or 100 years. That such a man as Paul Manafort was the campaign manager for the leader of the Republican Party should come as no surprise now; now that we have seen both the party and the president side with Russia time and time again, whether it's the blocking of funds to protect our elections, or creating the means for the NRA to conceal the sources of their financing mere hours after their relationship with a Russian spy came to light. And now, a special word about tonight's meme: I fully realize that it could get a variety of reactions. I don't lightly take what Nazis and other white supremacist groups of the 20th century, both here and in Germany, did at all. I am extremely disturbed, however, about how good people in the media, politicians and ordinary citizens alike, are reticent to call out contemporary Nazis for what they so obviously are. To me, to not do so is to be as naive as those who ignored the danger of bin Laden by dismissing the idea that anyone would be so insane as to fly planes full of people into buildings. We know how that worked out. Now is not the time to be meek. Many people say we should not make the Hitler comparison. Trump is not Hitler they say. His supporters are not like Hitler's supporters they say. His team is not like Hitler's they say. But, to do that is to ignore what they aspire to be and will be. if we allow it. Even Hitler was not Hitler in, say, 1927 but, the clues were there. They were ignored, for way too long. Millions died because of that. Tonight's meme could be seen by some as going too far, but really, would you be 100% surprised if it were true? Such are the people in Trump's camp. We've already seen Hitler salutes at Trump's rallies, even by a FOX "News" personality, not just the attendees. We have seen their pamphlets. We have seen the many fold increase in swastikas being painted on buildings across our country by people who are now emboldened by Trump. We have seen the Republican Party run an increasing number of Nazis for public office in places like Georgia and Illinois. We have seen the White House support for Nazis in Charlottesville. We have heard the words of lowlifes like Stephen Miller and Gen. John Kelly. We know what is in their hearts. We ignore Nazis at our peril and at the entire world's peril. They are not to be treated lightly until it is too late. Tonight's meme is just a small way to throw a light on the ugliness that is staring us right in the face. Sometimes, you just have to call a spade a spade and anything that wakes us up is a plus.
