Fact-checkers are the 'useful idiots' of Technocrats; often low-pay, entry-level jobs filled by inexperienced partisans who know little to nothing about the topics they fact-check. Yet, these become the undisputed 'experts' who can dictate the narrative that you must believe - lest you be also fact-checked and cancelled for not marching in compliance.
