Empire, Power & People with Andrew Gavin Marshall- Episode 127

The Network of Global Financial Governance

What exactly are financial markets? Can they be identified? This episode begins to portray a complex, yet identifiable network of governance in financial markets, made up of the top banks, financial institutions, asset managers and insurers in the world, coupled with the top industry associations, lobby groups, and think tanks representing banks and similar financial institutions, organizations that bring together the leadership of the financial world with the leaders of finance ministries and central banks (the policy-making elite), and the extensive overlap in leadership between all these institutions. Assessed collectively, we begin to see the image of a highly interconnected and overlapping network of global financial control in the hands of relatively few governors in the world of financial and monetary affairs.
