USAFE band first to march in Belarus parade
An Armed Forces of Belarus soldier provides an honor guard as 34 Airmen from the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band march in the World War II Victory Day Parade May 9, 2015, in Minsk, Belarus.
The band’s involvement is the first time in Belarus’ history that participants from the U.S. Department of Defense marched in the parade. The event commemorates the sacrifices of the World War II Allies and the end of hostilities 70 years ago.
In addition to their participation in the Victory Day parade, which included more than 5,000 Belarussian soldiers and 250 military vehicles, the USAFE bandsmen performed in concerts Brest and Minsk, Belarus. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Brian Bahret)
