Project Censored’s Andy Lee Roth will be giving a talk on “Citizenships and Censorships in a Digital World” as part of the 26th Annual Kenneth S. Devol First Amendment Forum at California State University, Northridge on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
This year’s Devol Forum—which examines the connections between government censorship and the right to be a citizen—is scheduled for 2:30-4:45pm in the Sierra Hall, Room 386.
The Forum also features First Amendment scholar and CSUN Journalism professor Elizabeth Blakey, and a screening of the documentary #Paperless, which addresses people without citizenship in Kuwait, by Ibrahim al Sutan, a graduate student in CSUN’s Journalism program.
The Kenneth S. Devol First Amendment Fourm Speakers Series was established in recognition of Dr. Devol’s many years of service to California State University, Northridge. A scholarship honoring outstanding student performance in the Journalism Department’s Mass Communication Law and Ethics Course was established in his name after he passed away in 1997.
