Doug Ford was recently elected as the new Premier of Ontario, and he has promised to end the carbon cap-and-trade system in his province when he takes office. He also promised to fight Trudeau's federal carbon tax and environmental policies. Ontario participates in a cap-and-trade partnership with neighboring Quebec and the debt-ridden state of California.
