The DCCC is busy pushing their wretched Blue Dogs and New Dems as congressional candidates. And the DCCC has been busy introducing them to the worst and most corrupt, sleazy lobbyists in Washington to trade cash for votes even before they're elected! But even with that, Randy Bryce has out-raised every single one of them-- with no help from the DCCC. That's not to say #IronStache gets no help. Aggressive progressives like Alan Grayson, Ro Khanna, Mark Pocan, Ruben Gallego, Jan Schakowsky and Ted Lieu jumped in quickly and so did groups like the Working Families Party, Blue America, NARAL Pro-Choice America, Vote Vets, DFA, the Congressional Progressive Caucus and, of course, unions galore. The endorsement Randy seemed the most jazzed about was the one that came in from Bernie in early November. It was Bernie's first endorsement for a congressional candidate for the 2018 cycle and the two of them made a very unorthodox video unlike any endorsement video you've probably ever seen (above). This morning my friends in Randy's campaign told me that a week from Saturday, Bernie will be in Racine for a rally with Randy. Why's this so notable? Bernie is incredibly popular in southeast Wisconsin. He didn't just beat Hillary in WI-01 (around 55-45%) he also took more votes than Trump in the district's big counties. For example, in Kenosha County, where both Bernie and Trump came in #1, on primary day, Bernie took 14,612 votes and Trump took 11,139 votes. In Racine County, Bernie took 14,651 votes and Trump took 11,756 votes. And Rock County, Paul Ryan's home county, gave Bernie 17,337 votes and Señor Trumpanzee just 10,264. Another campaign that was polling in the district found that Bernie's favorability in WI-01 is a lofty 70%.In fact Bernie is especially strong with independents (about 40% of the district's voters), which is exactly the bloc Bryce needs to win if he's going to beat Ryan. Every Democratic campaign in the country wants Bernie to come campaign in their district, more than any other Democrat. Ironically, many candidates are also asking for Randy Bryce to come to their districts as well.As far as we know now, Bernie and Randy will appear at Memorial Hall at the Civic Center, where Obama did his big Racine rally on February 13, 2008 as a candidate and again on June 30, 2010-- a big deal town hall meeting-- as president.
