BRICS urged to boost parliamentary cooperation

Increased parliamentary exchange can boost economic recovery, intra-BRICS trade and a greater role for emerging economies in the international financial architecture [Xinhua]
BRICS member states at a forum in the the Russian city of St. Petersburg have concluded that they want to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between them.
The parliamentary forum, chaired by China, comes on the heels of the 9th BRICS Summit held in the Chinese city of Xiamen last September.

BREAKING: US Embassy in Russia suspends issuing of ‘Non-Immigrant’ Visas

The US Embassy in Russia has announced it has suspended the issuing of so-called ‘Non-Immigrant Visas’ in Russia. This move will remain indefinite for US consulates throughout Russia while services in Moscow will apparently resume after the 1st of September, 2017, the date after which 755 US diplomatic workers will be eventuated from Russia.
The US defines the following types of individuals who seek to travel to the US as those requiring ‘Non-Immigrant Visas’.

The release of the Tourism 2016 report by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) this week showed that although there was a strong rebound in last year due to the weak rand, which made a holiday in South Africa very cheap for an overseas tourist, the country was still suffering from the imposition of more stringent visa requirements.
