Sunspot, New Mexico is one of the United States’ unique phenomena – a settlement or village named after it’s primary purpose. In this case, the purpose of Sunspot the village is to house solar research scientists who use the Sunspot telescope, more properly named the National Solar Observatory’s Dunn Solar Telescope.
It has one mission – to stare at the sun so scientists can observe it. And, since 1950, that has been the sole business of this little community, perched at an elevation of 9,200 feet above sea level on the escarpment of the Sacramento Mountains.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping took a break from meetings on Tuesday to show off their cooking skills.
While attending an economic forum in the far eastern port of Vladivostok, Russia, Putin and Xi donned blue aprons to cook up some traditional Russian pancakes, called blini. After making a short stack, the pair ate their blini topped with caviar and washed it down with shots of vodka.

Norway is famous for its incredible fjords. These formations of unspeakable beauty make the Norwegian coast one of the most photographed in the world.
They also make it one of the most difficult coasts to traverse. The present road and ferry system in place presently makes it possible to drive the 683-mile route from the southern Norwegian city of Kristiansand to the northern point of Trondheim in a rather lengthy 21 hours. This course involves no fewer than seven ferry crossings along the way.
