BREAKING: Russian FM Lavrov says Trump didn’t discuss Comey firing in meeting

Sergey Lavrov has said that a New York Times story claiming that Donald Trump said that he fired James Comey because he was a ‘nut job’ and had impeded good relations with Russia is fake.
When asked to confirm the story which White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer has not denied, Lavrov said,

“We did not touch on that topic (of Comey) at all”.

According to yet another leak from the Trump White House, The New York Times has published further details of the conversation Donald Trump had with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak.
According to the New York Times, Trump said,

“I just fired the head of the F.B.I. He was crazy, a real nut job”.

Trump allegedly continued,

“I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off.
I’m not under investigation”.

A growing number of former US ambassadors and other diplomats are issuing statements loudly criticizing the “hysteria” within Congress and aspects of the US media regarding Russia, and in particular the obsession with demonizing those officials who have met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
