MGM, the owner of Mandalay Bay Hotel where Paddock committed the crime, has agreed to pay up to $800-million to settle lawsuits, although it is unclear why the hotel is liable. The most significant aspect of this settlement is that it will protect MGM from further investigation arising form these law suits.
