Nous relayons l’émission « L’invité » du 12 septembre 2016, tournée quelques mois avant les diverses périodes électorales en France [1]. Patrick Simonin y accueille Laurent Mauduit, entre autres cofondateur de Mediapart et ancien du Monde et de Libération, pour qu’il y présente son livre Main basse sur l’information, sorti aux éditions Don Quichotte le 8 septembre 2016 [2].

The Western powers are still deemed imperialist by their critics, due to their history of imperialism and their recent behavior as conquerors and exporters of their supposed “democratic” superiority. On the other hand, they try to accuse their own foreign opponents such as Iran, Russia or even the Palestinian people of having imperialist or similarly coercive goals against them or their allies.

I used to live and work in the Irish Channel at Hope House in New Orleans. I worked with families who lived in the St. Thomas Housing Development. Over 1500 families lived in brick buildings stretched three blocks by four blocks in the area which is now the River Garden apartments.
Some Catholic Sisters who were living in the St. Thomas asked me to join them in serving the poor and I agreed. One of the sisters received a small stipend for teaching religion at Mercy Academy. She told me she would give me her stipend of $250 per month if I joined them.
