Trump Wants Kobach-- Establishment Republicans Want Cold Compresses

I woke up yesterday and took a look at look at a funny little post in Axios by Jonathan Swan, "Behind the scenes: Trump's power politics," about Señor Trumpanzee big-footing all over the GOP midterms. He always has to make them all about him-- even when that is a detriment. The first segment was about screwed up the OH-12 race. "Trump," wrote Swan, "thinks it's fun to have a stake in these elections, according to sources familiar with his thinking.

The NY Times Sounds The Alarm: Trump's Voter Suppression Efforts Have Begun

It's been reaffirming seeing Secretary of State after Secretary of State-- and not just from normal states but from deep red states like Mississippi and Louisiana-- standing up to Trump and pet fascist anti-democracy activist Kris Kobach and telling them to go jump into the Gulf of Mexico. The Trumpists want the voter roles and the Secretaries are protecting them from him and Kobach.

Why The GOP Establishment Still Backs Trump: He Advances Their Outrageous Agenda-- Like Voter Suppression

Yesterday Trumped signed one of his cockamamie executive orders-- ruling by decree-- that establishes a commission to investigate his baseless claims of alleged voter fraud. Worse yet, crackpot Kansas racist and xenophobe Kris Kobach has already been telling people that Trump picked him to head the commission (although he's actually doing it as vice-chair under Pence).

Republicans In Their Own Words, Pt.1: It’s Republican World, 2015 In Review!-- Chapter Five

-by NoahThe alternate universe of the mind that Republicans have chosen to live in is a world of staggering ugliness and hypocrisy. So, off they go into some crazy twilight world where racism, misogyny and all manner of negativity are justified, conspiracies abound, and a veritable cornucopia of never ending hate is always available.Often the words of republicans themselves give normal people a view into the darkness of this other place.1.

The Worst Republican? Yes, There's A Worst

This morning I saw a tweet by Noam Scheiber that got my attention: "The worst Republican in America may be about to lose office." The worst? Forget for a minute that whoever it is may lose, how does anyone sort out the racists, fascists, corporate whores and psychopaths who are the core of GOP officialdom to come up with just one "worst Republican?" Ted Cruz isn't up for reelection. That rapist doctor is Tennessee, Scott DesJarlais already won his seat.

Could November Prove To Be A Wipeout For Kansas Republican Extremists?

Kansas has been nearly a one party state for a very long time. Ravaged by the Republican Party's Great Depression, Kansans voted for Franklin Roosevelt in 1932 (against Hoover) and in 1936 (against Alf Landon, their former governor). After that they went back to their innate conservatism, backing Wendell Willkie against Roosevelt in 1940 and Thomas Dewey against Roosevelt in 1944.
