The Daily Caller reports that Awan may have started out trying to protect (and blackmail) Debbie Wasserman Schultz, only to flip on April 6, 2017, when he seemingly led U.S. Capitol Police directly to her laptop.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s former “IT aide” has officially been indicted by a grand jury on four counts including bank fraud and making false statements.
Fox News reports that the charges (which also include Awan’s wife Hina Alvi) and are tied to allegations that the pair conspired to make false statements on applications for home equity lines of credit and then sent the proceeds of those loans to individuals in Pakistan.
