Election Interference

Alleged Russian interference in the 2020 presidential election is headline news, once again, as a Ukrainian lawmaker is charged by the Trump administration “in a sweeping plot to sow distrust in the American political process,” reports the Associated Press. Microsoft also made claims that it detected “hacking attempts targeting U.S. political campaigns, parties and consultants” by agents from Russia, China, and Iran.

Dr. Steve Turley offers some very interesting analysis around the announcement on August 11th, that Russia has a new registered COVID-19 / Coronavirus vaccine. Named Sputnik V, the Russia vaccine is understood to be “simpler” than the six candidates nearing release by the US, but it also helps put President Trump and his efforts at combating the virus front and center. This appears to be a major detriment to Senator Joe Biden’s campaign.

Google suspended the campaign’s advertising account for six hours following the debate, while searches for her were trending. She is seeking an injunction against Google to prevent them from continuing to meddle in the election and is asking for $50-million compensation for damages.

Earlier this month, tech giant Microsoft announced its solution to “protect” American elections from interference, which it has named “ElectionGuard.” The election technology is already set to be adopted by half of voting machine manufacturers and some state governments for the 2020 general election. Though it has been heavily promoted by the mainstream media in recent weeks, none of those reports have disclosed that ElectionGuard has several glaring conflicts of interest that greatly undermine its claim aimed at protecting U.S. democracy.

The renowned American political dissident, MIT linguist, and author Noam Chomsky came out in criticism of the media’s portrayal of what he considers trivial issues – the Russia investigation, U.S. President Donald Trump’s immigration policies and Trump’s cozying up to Russia’s Putin.

For some 15 months now, all echelons of the American news media have been reporting an allegation that “the Russians” interfered in the US presidential election of 2016. The reason why is rather clear: The Democrats and the political and media establishment (which explains why some reputedly conservative outlets also drum this theme) did not want Donald Trump to win, and the fact that the American people managed to escape the media’s control enough to elect him is an unexplainable travesty which must be corrected.
