Having worked as a diplomat at the Ecuadorian embassy in London for six out of the seven years that Julian Assange lived there as a political refugee, unlike others, I am privy to what actually happened there. I am alarmed by CNN’s June 15th 2019 story, alleging Assange turned the Ecuadorian embassy in London into a command post for election meddling.
The US and its puppet states have been on a mission to apprehend Julian Assange over his revelations of various state secrets, which was by and large the reason why he sought asylum from Ecuador inside its London embassy.
Julian Assange has literally stuck his head out of the parapet at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to speak to his supporters and members of the press.
He thanked his legal team and millions of well-wishes across the globe. At a time he seemed emotional when reflecting on just how much of life he has missed out on during his effective imprisonment in the Embassy which began in 2012.
In his remarks he criticised the EU’s policy of extraditing without charge, a policy that in spite of Brexit, the UK is still obliged to.
