Award-Winning Oklahoma Deputy Shoots Dog, Then Leaves Note for Family Before Going About His Day

An Oklahoma sheriff’s deputy shot a family dog on the front porch of a house while investigating a disturbance call at another home, leaving the dog there bleeding as he went on with his day.
Rogers County sheriff’s deputy Logan Eller, however, left a note on the door, claiming the dog had attacked him.

“We were investigating a crime and your dog attacked our deputy. The dog was shot and we need you to call us.”

Delaware State Police Caught on Video Raiding Home, Killing Dog (Updated)

Wearing full military gear and wielding high-powered rifles, Delaware state police broke into a home Friday, shooting and killing a dog who was running from them in fear.
The entry was captured on Mark Reedy’s security camera, who says police were looking for guns, but the shooting takes place off-frame.
The video shows the dog running up to the door as they are trying to break in, yelling “state police … search warrant.”

Baltimore Police Officer Found Not Guilty for Slitting Dog’s Throat

In a controversial ruling this morning, Judge Melissa Phinn rendered a not guilty verdict to a Baltimore police officer accused of killing a dog by slitting its throat last year.
Jeffrey Bolger, who has since retired from the department, was found not guilty on all charges, including animal cruelty, mutilating an animal and misconduct in office in connection with the June 2014 killing of a Shar-Pei dog named Nala.

Louisiana Cops Shoots Family Dog, Refuse to Release Body Cam Footage

A black Labrador named Max belonging to a family in Lafayette, Louisiana was shot and killed by a city marshal, who was looking to arrest its owner for outstanding traffic warrants.
Now the family may be cited by animal control for not having the dog on a leash.
The incident took place Monday when the marshal walked up to a home to arrest Bryant Marks for driving a vehicle with a suspended license and for a hit-and-run accident.
As he walked up to the door, Max came out from beneath the home and ran towards the marshal, which was when he was shot dead.

St. Louis Cop Shoots at Dog, Striking Owner Instead, Managing Not to Get Attacked

A St. Louis cop investigating a double-homicide Wednesday pulled out a gun to kill a dog, but ended up shooting the dog’s owner instead, who happened to be the mother of one of the murder victims.
The woman was struck in the leg and will survive.
The dog, who was not shot, apparently did not attack the cop as he had feared. The cop’s name has not been released.
