Despite the devastating and murderous war being waged on the people of Yemen by Saudi Arabia, Washington is working to ram through contracts for tens of billions of dollars in weapons for the despotic monarchy ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump’s trip to the kingdom this month, Reuters reports.

(GPA) Riyadh – The US State Department under Donald Trump has announced today that they will green-light the sale of weapons to Saudi Arabia that were previously frozen in the final months of the Obama administration.

(ANTIWAR) According to officials familiar with the process, President Trump is expected to quickly approve massive weapons sales to both Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, deals which had been on hold over growing concerns about human rights abuses by both nations.

Gulf countries have gone on massive military spending sprees recently.
