HODEIDA, YEMEN — The United Arab Emirates Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anwar Gargash, announced on Sunday a pause in the U.S.-backed, Saudi-led attacks against Yemen’s port city of Hodeida. He claimed the halt is intended to allow United Nations efforts to resolve the conflict to take place.
Hodeidah (GPA) – Mainstream media outlets have spent the last month or so hyping up the importance of Hodeidah in Yemen. Forces backed by the U.S.-Saudi-U.A.E. coalition have an intense offensive planned to take territory from Yemen’s Army and Popular Committees, Ansarullah.
But what’s the big deal about Hodeidah? Well, a whole lot actually. So much that imperial powers are willing to risk up to 600,000 civilian deaths to flex their power.
Sana’a – For the past three years, the United States has attempted to disguise, manipulate, or outright deny its involvement in Yemen. Nonetheless, new facts come to light every so often that indicate Washington’s participation in the Saudi-led war is much more hands-on than officials let on.
Sudan again came under pressure last week to withdraw troops from Yemen when pictures depicting yet another failure surfaced on social media. Yemen’s Army and Popular Committees — who control most of Yemen’s northern provinces — ambushed and killed dozens of invading Sudanese troops.
SANA’A, YEMEN (Report) — The U.S.-backed, Saudi-led war against Yemen is entering its fourth year. This war has killed over 13,000 people, injured over 21,000, devastated civilian infrastructure, triggered a famine, and created one of the worst man-made (and very preventable) humanitarian disasters on the planet.
