Afraa Dagher

Afraa Dagher remembers Khaled Al-Khateb, RT Arabic’s journalist murdered by ISIS

The latest but not the last martyr among the honest brave voices that reveal the truth and expose the suppression of information on war criminality, is the young and awesome Syrian journalist Khaled Al-Khateb, who was killed today when he came under fire from the so-called ‘ISIS’.  These blind rockets ended the life of the 25 years old Syrian reporter Khaled who recently joined the ranks of RT Arabic.
ISIS, barbaric as they did not care that the word ‘PRESS’ was clearly written on his field uniform.

Interview: Syrian political commentator Afraa Dagher on ‘de-escalation zones’

The Duran’s Adam Garrie recently asked Syrian political commentator Afraa Dagher about her views on the recent Astana Memorandum authorising the creation of so-called de-escalation zones/safe zones.
AG: The Astana Group released a memorandum calling for the creation of so-called Safe Zones in Syria. Many says these zones will allow the Syrian led anti-terrorist coalition to disarm or terminate terrorists though others fear they could evolve into US style no-fly zones that could allow terrorists to colonise parts of Syria.
What is your reaction to this?

Syrian political commentator Afraa Dagher speaks with The Duran’s Adam Garrie

I recently had the privilege of interviewing Syrian political commentator Afraa Dagher. Throughout the conflict she has written pieces on the reality of this much misunderstood war as well as made appearances on a variety of global media outlets, including RT.
She is a patriotic Syrian whose words are deeply valuable to boththe friends and foes of Syria, many of whom rely exclusively on non-Syrians for news and analysis about the country and its struggle.
Here is what she had to say.

Washington, London & Paris Kill Dozens in Twin Explosions in Damascus

The refusal of the Western capitals to condemn twin explosions in Damascus Bab Sgheir cemetery four days ago, in the heart of the city gave their terrorists a green light to carry out more. At the UNSC they foiled the Russian draft to condemn the explosions.

Why Bashar al-Assad’s brand of Ba’athism is the right solution for Syria

Ba’athism can be viewed from two different perspectives: firstly by its objective virtues, and secondly by its opposition.
Ba’athism, as a political theory, combines Arab nationalism with socialist ideas, high quality secular education, a mixed economy, and a strong central government that oversees a secular society in which all religions are treated equally and worship is freely allowed.

Syria rejects Russian draft constitution

As was widely expected, the Syrian Arab Republic has rejected provisions of the Russian draft Constitution for Syria calling for autonomous communities in Syria, including for Kurdish regions.
According to Al Masdar news, Syrian envoy to the UN and Syrian representative to the Astana peace talks, Dr. Bashar Jaafari said,
“It’s completely unacceptable for a group of people to decide to create a statelet and call it federalism”.

Astana peace talks on Syria are over, what’s next? (INTERVIEW)

Adam Garrie asked Syrian journalist Afraa Dagher to reflect on the recent Astana Peace Conference and how this impacts on Syria’s long-term future.
AG:  The new draft constitution seems to have disappointed people on all sides. It’s not surprising that terrorist’s whose currency is blood have rejected it, but there are many provisions which seem to weaken the Syrian Arab Republic’s standing as a secular, multi-national, multi-religious, tolerant republic for all citizens. What is your reaction to such provisions?
