By now, probably thousands of articles have been published in economics journals in which the author constructs an economic model, derives from it the optimality conditions, and concludes by making policy recommendations that prescribe how governmental authorities should act—that is, should use their coercive power—to force the real world into conformity with the model’s optimality conditions.

"Climate models that simulate the current climate the best [also] tend to project the most global warming." See text below for explanation of the chart.by Gaius PubliusThis is a climate story with two pieces. The first piece is the by-now-obvious "Everything's happening faster than anyone thought it would" observation, of which the immediate corollary is, "OMG we're still screwed."It's true that everything is happening faster than anyone t

Within two years of adopting collectivist reforms, things in the Central African Republic grew from bad to worse and Colonel Jean-Bédel Bokassa seized power in 1966. What followed was a decade of dictatorship, poverty, and brutal abuse of power. Here are four ways he reminds us that absolute power was meant for no man.

As corporate tax reform gets ever-closer to becoming a reality, opponents are shifting their strategy. Rather than asserting that “tax reform cannot be a cover story for delivering tax cuts to the wealthiest,” they will soon turn to “proving” that tax cuts benefit the rich at the expense of the rest of us, to use in future campaigns, even if it is not true.

Dear Donors, thank you for your support in 2017. Although you have kept me working yet another year, I find it encouraging that there are some Americans who can think independently and who want to know. As Margaret Mead said, it only takes a few determined people to change the world. Perhaps some of you will be those people.

In my hometown in western Hungary, a quaint place called Győr, stands the white tower of the Bishop’s Castle. Its spectacular view complements the history of kindness and heroism in Hungary, but its cellar is soaked with the blood of a bishop who sacrificed himself to protect the innocent. His name was Vilmos Apor.

It has been a while since I last reported on the fraud of "Global Warming"... But this one does indeed vindicate what I have said for years...... That our climate is driven by not only our own Yellow Dwarf star, Sol, but by the cosmos itself.....OK, First, I want to present a most important link to a report that just came forward a couple of days ago, from the Mail Online news service, at www.dailymail.co.uk, where they just released a report that has been so long overdue...

I think everyone should have a boredom defense list. This is basically a list of opportunities for progression. Whenever you’re bored, you can consult your list and pick an area to “level up.” It’s not that you should only do these things, but you’d do well to at least consider these before you resort to cheaper boredom fixes like watching TV or using Facebook.
*I took another of those "me days" yesterday... I had to take care of the last bit of Christmas shopping as well as spend some time with my mother who is still not getting any better.... It has been a very stressful time, and once again my ability to post articles at this blog has had to suffer...I received a heck of a lot of emails and some most interesting comments from my last posting where I was asking some serious questions about that Amtrak train crash in Washington state three days ago that caused the death of at least 6 people and injured dozens of others....
The Trump administration’s “maximum pressure” approach of increasingly rigid economic sanctions and military posturing has not slowed down North Korea’s missile and nuclear testing schedule. The Trump administration has consistently opted to increase pressure on North Korea rather than critically examine whether or not such pressure will change the North’s behavior.

Gowdy omitted FBI agent Peter Strzok, Justice Department official Bruce Ohr, and his Fusion GPS-linked wife, Nellie, from the list of people to be grilled about the origin of the accusations of Trump collusion with Russia. Florida Congressman Ron DeSantis says the discredited dirty dossier against Trump could have been used as an "insurance policy" by the deep state to keep Trump from taking office. High-level officials from the FBI and DOJ have refused to answer when asked if the FBI helped to pay for the dirty dossier and whether the dirty dossier was used to obtain FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign. DeSantis says that the only reason to refuse to answer these questions is that the answer is 'yes'.

Waste from industrialized pig farms are kept in open-air pits called lagoons and farmers spray it on their crops as fertilizer. Hogs produce ten times the fecal waste by weight as humans. Industrialized pig farms should have their own sewage treatment plants, but the cost would be so high that pork would be priced out of the market. The CDC has become a front for the pharmaceutical cartel and blames filth-related diseases on 'newly discovered viruses', and then invents toxic vaccines supposedly to combat the viruses.
In fact, the strategy does not say anything new. The document is just another confirmation of the fact that the US global domination remains to be the goal and everything else is a means to that end.
A few hours before Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Cairo to meet with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Dec. 11, he ordered the Hmeimim air base in Syria’s Latakia province to begin withdrawing the bulk of Russian troops stationed in Syria, while maintaining a presence at Hmeimim and the Russian naval facility in Tartus.
