In April, an exclusive report published on Mintpress News laid bare an "unholy alliance" between al-Qaeda and the displaced government of Abdurabbuh Mansur Hadi that a coalition led by Sunni Gulf monarchies has been unsuccessfully seeking to reinstall with the help of the West since 2015. These revelations come on top of previous investigations that … Continue reading "In Yemen, Western Foreign Policy Is Empowering al-Qaeda"
After threatening to divorce America and rush into China’s arms, the Philippines’ President Rodrigo Duterte, as coarse, myopic, and impulsive as President Donald Trump, reconsidered. Predictably but unfortunately, he decided that the onetime U.S. conquest and dependent should remain on America’s defense dole.
In the wake of the murder of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police, protests erupted across the United States. Along with the demonstrations came some looting and violence, which gave states the excuse to deploy National Guard troops and enact curfews in major cities. A beloved barbecue chef in Louisville, Kentucky was shot … Continue reading "The Danger of Sending in the Troops: The Killing of David McAtee"

A health professional told me back in March that face masks were ineffective but that respirators (the N95) were. Because of the source, I thought there must be validity to this. However, it seemed counterintuitive.

The late Bert Bolin, a Swedish meteorologist, was the first chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). His tenure began in 1988 and ended in 1997 – well after the IPCC’s second assessment report had been completed. (There have been four so far, published in 1990, 1995, 2001, and 2007.)
Guest Post by JAMAL KIDWAI Ibn-e-Insha (15 June 1927 – 11 January 1978) would have turned 93 today. Next month Anne Applebaum's new book, Twilight of Democracy: The Seductive Lure of Authoritarianism will be available. I can't wait, but until then, we'll have to satisfy ourselves with a long, learned essay she wrote for The Atlantic this weekend, The Collaborators-- History Will Judge The Complicit.
Kristina har en crush på Felix Mendelssohn, precis som Jenny Lind hade. Om det och mycket mer när Vetenskapsradion Historia läser och spelar sig igenom coronasommaren!
If you remember Strom Thurmond at all, you probably recall him as a senile, diaper-wearing far right Republican Senate pal of Joe Biden's, who died in 2003 (age 100)-- but that Republican part wasn't part of the equation until 1966. He was prominent politically decades earlier-- even as a presidential candidate. Earlier still, he was elected governor of South Carolina in 1946 as a Democrat (and with no opponent).
Today we cover a couple works I was able to get ahold of, namely John C. Lilly’s revealing autobiography and a futurist book with essays discussing UBI, technocracy, the new era of spirituality and more. The past two weeks have shown us the world is fast moving into this new era. Streamlabs now replaces superchats here. Live at 4PM EST

Well, It is Sunday once again.. And time for my weekly rant...The weather here in central Canada has been so topsy-turvy recently, with overnight lows going down to near ZERO Celsius (freezing point for H20) and daytime highs have been all over the map.. It is so surprising to see this occurrence for the fact that USUALLY at this time of year the daytime temperatures have been in the mid to high 20's Celsius with overnight lows dipping down only to the mid teens Celsius... Does this mean that the planet is 'overheating" as the scumbags that are still out there claiming it to be?

An incredible event took place this week: A Russian tanker docked at the Port of Jiangsu on China’s east-central coast, offloading its cargo of liquefied natural gas from the Yamal LNG plant in Russia’s north.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “James, that’s not so incredible. Tankers regularly carry LNG from Russia to Asia via the Suez Canal in the winter months!”

An important reckoning with a great historical injustice is underway in Australia which presents the world with a rare opportunity to look into the darker corners of the corridors of power too often ignored by even the most ardent truth seekers among us.

As we continue to receive countless requests to donate to SPR, we have now temporarily added such an option.
Important: Do not donate to “support” SPR or to encourage additional updates, as the research project is mostly completed. Donate only if you want to thank for work already done. And no matter how much you donate, you will get zero influence on what we do or do not publish.

With India Nepal relations entering a deep freeze, a section of Indian media, particularly Hindi, has turned ultra-nationalist, uncritically toeing the establishment’s line. Ever since Nepal opposed India laying a road on the border and claiming Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh, and Kalapani as parts of its territory, the media has failed to analyse the situation critically. Instead of taking the matter[Read More...]
Europe is progressively being sucked into the Middle East and North Africa’s myriad conflicts. Putting your destiny into the hands of a drug company is much like seeking reassurances from an opportunistic pimp. The returns are bound to mixed, dressed up in deceptive language.
