The COVID-19 Hysteria: The Sky Is Falling! The Sky Is Falling! English Premier League Soccer Has Been Postponed Until At Least April 3rd!

Constant readers to this blog are well aware that I am a HUGE soccer fan....Many have indeed noticed that from my weekend rants where I constantly talk about soccer in my usual closing "last minute tidbits"...... I have been following soccer since I was about 6 years of age and played a lot of soccer during my years in school....I have always loved the game and absolutely do hate it when I miss some soccer games especially those in the English Premier League....   My favourite team has been for over 50+ years now the Arsenal Gunners, and I have long hoped to have at least one stroke taken off my "bucket list" in my latter years in going to London England and catching a game at Emirates Stadium in the suburb of Holloway...Now, what does this have to do with the COVID-19 hysteria, you may ask?  Well, according to the following report that comes from the Press TV website at www.presstv.com, apparently the English Premier League has now followed all of the other "major" sports leagues around the planet in suspending games in England until at LEAST April 3rd!!!!!   Here in fact is that report for all to see here, and I do have of course my own thoughts and comments to follow:English Premier League postponed until April 3Friday, 13 March 2020 10:44 PM  [ Last Update: Friday, 13 March 2020 11:46 PM ]Volume 90%The English Premier League has followed the lead of Serie A and La Liga by announcing that all upcoming fixtures will have to be rearranged as the global pandemic continues to wreak havoc. After an emergency meeting on Friday, the English football association and the Premier League have agreed to postpone all forms of professional football in England, until at least April 3rd.This action has been taken due to the increasing numbers of clubs taking steps to isolate their players and staff, because of the Covid-19 virus. It was revealed on Thursday that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Chelsea winger, Callum Hudson-Odoi, along with a number of Leicester City players had contracted coronavirus. The decision sees the Premier League follow other major football leagues around Europe, with Italy’s Serie A, Spain's La Liga, Germany's Bundesliga and France's Ligue 1 all put on hold. Leicester city Manager, Brendan Rodgers had a say on this. NTS Note: Here is a video from Football Daily that also discusses the details about this travesty:NTS Notes:  OK, now I can say Yes the sky is falling, and we are all going to die!!!!  NO soccer!!!!! What in the heck will I ever do for the next 3 weeks at least until the Premier League restarts their schedule????To me, this is the real travesty... NO soccer for the next 3 weeks at least, and I will definitely go through withdrawals and have to find something else to do besides blogging.....So what will I do in the meantime?  I guess its either take up drinking... Or start that much needed exercise program that I really need?   Nah.... The drinking part sounds better all the time....More to comeNTS
