Charlie Wilson's War Redux- Sen.Lindsey Graham Goes to US/PKK Occupied Manbij

I'd hoped to publish this news yesterday, but, didn't get it done! Lack of time :(As of today, I find still another reason to get this information out. Besides simply informing readers, an opportunity is presented to vent my ongoing frustrations with the 5 eyes alt media. And it's deceptive practices. Those that I find on par with 5 eyes msm.So away we go!Senator's Lindsey Graham & Jeanne Shaheen arrived, with coalition military escort/most likely US, in US/PKK occupied Syrian city of Manbij-They did not meet with the Turks while there. Nor were they in Turkish occupied Syria. Despite whatever rubbish is claimed by "Tyler Durden @ Zero Hedge", in the obviously misinfo/disinfo article titled: Lindsey Graham Inside Turkish Occupied North Syria: US Pullout Would Be "Terrible" Because their are no Turkish forces in that area of Manbij. At all. Anywhere.  As stated Graham and Shaheen were feted in US/PKK occupied Syria.   One would think that fact is something Tyler Durden should be aware of considering the dispute over the presence of US backed PKK/YPG in Manbij has been a festering sore for years between the Turks and the US! And I do mean for years and years now. Had the US moved their proxy forces east of the Euphrates in Syria, as Obama had assured the Turkish leadership, rather then building multiple military bases with an eye to occupying the annexed territory, while heavily arming their proxy forces.- Turkey would not have entered Syria.   Keep that in mind as you read the following information demonstrating clear parallels to Charlie Wilson's freedom fighters in Afghanistan and Obama/Trump's so called freedom loving fighters in Syria.Charlies Wilson's War Redux.  Hoping readers here recall Charlies Wilson? If not read/re-read this 2010 post covering his death: Charlie Wilson dies. His Afghan "war" legacy lives on Nutshell version: Charlies Wilson famously directed funding to 'rebels' in Afghanistan with an eye northward to destabilizing/weakening Russia. These rebels were presented as freedom fighters. They were simply terrorist proxies of the US. Charlie Wilson helped created Al Quaeda. Bring this tactic up to present day and we see the same scenario acted out in Northern Syria-  In fact, nearly identical  From this 8 year old post I'm going to quote from an older interview : The CIA's Intervention in Afghanistan:Interview with Zbigniew Brzezinski, President Jimmy Carter's National Security Adviser

Brzezinski: Yes. According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And that very day, I wrote a note to the president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going to induce a Soviet military intervention.

Q: Despite this risk, you were an advocate of this covert action. But perhaps you yourself desired this Soviet entry into war and looked to provoke it? B: It isn't quite that. We didn't push the Russians to intervene, but we knowingly increased the probability that they would.

Q: When the Soviets justified their intervention by asserting that they intended to fight against a secret involvement of the United States in Afghanistan, people didn't believe them. However, there was a basis of truth. You don't regret anything today? B: Regret what? That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to regret it? The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter. We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam war. Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war unsupportable by the government, a conflict that brought about the demoralization and finally the breakup of the Soviet empire.

As arming the mujaheddin aided in destabilizing Russia, so does arming the PKK in northern Syria serve to destabilize Turkey. It's the same methodology. It seems obvious both the Turks and the Russians are aware of this.Update  approx 12:14 pm EST July 4/2018Yet another parallel in arming PKK/arming Mujaheddin surfacesProvided by none other then Lindsay Graham after visiting his glorious freedom fighters in Northern Afghanistan- sorry Northern Syria.US senator says further involvement in Syria could land Turkey in ‘quagmire’

"Turkey could find itself in a quagmire if it deepens its involvement in Syria’s multi-sided civil war, a US senator said on Wednesday after meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan last Friday, Reuters reported.

Lindsey Graham, a Republican member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, told Reuters on a visit to Baghdad that Turkey should support a continued US presence in Syria

“You don’t want any further incursions in Syria by the Turkish military, you’ll get yourself in a quagmire,” he added.

Turkish officials did not immediately respond to his comments.

Lindsey Graham's Glorious Freedom FightersPay attention to the language employed by Mr Graham MECRA Lindsey Graham Meets the Mujaheddin in ManbijSouth Carolina US Senator Lindsey Graham visited Manbij in eastern Syria according to video and images posted online. There he met with US partner forces who helped defeat ISIS in the last years and who have been concerned about the future of US policy. In one video the Senator is shown speaking with local forces. He said that he would tell US President Donald Trump that it was  (LG) "important we stay here and help you, you are friends of the US and if we leave it will be terrible, I will tell the story of Manbij to my colleagues, it is a place of hope in a region that needs hope," he said. His visit is symbolic and important especially because he is a powerful Senator whose is outspoken on a number of key issues in US foreign policy and at home. He'll tell the story of Afghanistan, I mean Manbij, because it is a place of hope in a region that needs hope.  A Republican administration led by Ronald Reagan, like Trump from Obama, inherited the Mujaheddin from the Democrat Jimmy Carter.  Here's a quote from Ronald Reagan regarding these terrorists.

"These Islamic fighters in a faraway land have given new meaning to the words "courage," "determination," and "strength." They have set the standard for those who value freedom and independence everywhere in the world.

Similar rhetoric-

"A local member of the forces in Manbij indicated that the US should continue to protect them. Images showed the Senator touring a shuk and meeting with people. One twitter user wrote "A high-level delegation from the International Coalition Forces and the American Congress visited #Manbij city today. Two of the senators were Lindsey Graham and Jeanne Shaheen."
"Today We have been visited by dear guests to take a look at the situation in the city " Manbij ". It was a wonderful visit from the US Senate and the friends in the leadership of the international #coalition. #Manbij welcomed her guests."

Albawaba: U.S. Senator on Surprise Visit to North Syria, Says its Better for Yanks to Stay

Lindsey Graham told a group of local officials in a video broadcast by the Manbij-based Furat FM TV on Monday that it would "be terrible" if Americans leave.Graham vowed to tell US President Donald Trump that it's "important that we stay here to help you.”

US Senators Lindsey Graham and Jeanne Shaheen visited Manbij, Syria, on July 2. Senator Graham said he would tell President Trump it was important to keep US forces there. The footage shows a US delegation touring Manbij streets and a local market, alongside members of the Manbij Military Council, a Kurdish militia and US ally Senator Graham told MMC commanders, "I will tell President Trump that it’s important we stay here to help you. You are friends of the United States and if we leave, it will be terrible.”

The similarities between northern Afghanistan and northern Syria are obvious. In Afghanistan the freedom fighters were able to evict the Soviet friendly government. To date, in Syria, the 'freedom fighters' have not been able to overthrow the Russian allied government. Parallels from past to present- Dots that connect then to now. History repeats. On the day Mr Graham and Ms Shaheen visited Manbij there were reports that the presence of military vehicles may indicate a withdrawal- I don't think so! I think these vehicles were just accompanying the high profile visitorsUS military convoys arrive in Manbij amid rumored pullout from Syria http://en.abna24.com/news/middle-east/us-military-convoys-arrive-in-man… far, as of today, there is nothing that indicates the US is pulling out of Northern Syria- Nothing!  As for Tyler Durden's piece?- Worthless. That's my opinion. You make up your own mind. With thanks to my hubby, my sounding board, who as I spoke of this situation reminded me of Charlie Wilson and his war in Afghanistan and just how similar this all seemed- We've all  been here before!
