Oxfam Exploited Disaster Victims for Sex in Haiti & Chad

No better then the Useless Nations. But hey giv'em your money cause they're helping.... (themselves to exploit those already heavily down & out)Oxfam Prostitution Scandal

The Times of London report, published Thursday, accused Oxfam’s then-director in Haiti, along with other workers, of running an illegal makeshift brothel after a massive quake devastated the country.Oxfam has admitted to at least some of the wrongdoings alleged in the report, and promised an internal review and overhaul. “We are ashamed of what happened,” the organization's chair wrote in a statement Sunday. “We apologize unreservedly.”But contrition may not be enough. The Times alleged that Oxfam tried to hide the scandal, allowing the director to quietly resign rather than firing him. The Guardian has since reported new accusations: that the same man, Roland van Hauwermeiren, was accused of hiring sex workers in Chad.

Oxfam in Chad

Women that we thought were prostitutes were invited time and time again to Oxfam’s headquarters.” A former employee has stated that a manager was made redundant in 2006. He went on, “They invited women for parties. We knew that those invited were not simply friends with each other.”The former employee points out that the organisation does fantastic work, but this is “a problem that we find across the entire sector.”Stefaan Declercq, the General Secretary of the Belgian arm of Oxfam-Solidarité, stated on Friday that Roland van Hauwermeiren then managed Oxfam in Haiti, being employed by the British section. Declercq said, “I do not wish to hide behind the fact that these individuals did not belong to the Belgian branch of the NGO. That is an irrelevant factor.” In 2011, Roland Van Hauwermeiren had resigned, having acknowledged hiring prostitutes in his villa in Haiti.

Isn't it telling that Oxfam transferred a sexual predator, Roland Van Hauwermeirn, from Chad where he was abusing wome/girls to Haiti where he continued on in his vile behaviour then Oxfam allows this pervert to quietly resign. Wonder if they abused young boys too?Wouldn't doubt it.

Washington Post: The Times’s report was based on individuals familiar with the organization’s work in Haiti around that time as well as a report summarizing an internal Oxfam investigation of the allegations. The majority of Oxfam's 230 staff members working in Haiti at the time are not accused of impropriety, but a small group of male aid workers living in Delmas, near Port-au-Prince, are accused of turning a rented guesthouse into what an individual told the Times the men called “the whorehouse.”

“These girls wearing Oxfam T-shirts, running around half-naked, it was like a full-on 'Caligula' orgy. It was unbelievable. It was crazy,” the individual told the Times about parties at the house.

In addition to the country director, six other workers left the charity after its internal investigation: Two resigned, and four were fired for offenses such as “use of prostitutes on Oxfam property” and possession of pornography, the Times reported. The misconduct also included bullying, harassment and intimidation, the organization said in its statement.Oxfam said it had not found evidence to back one of the Times's most explosive claims: that underage girls were involved.

If Oxfam can't find that evidence it's because they don't want to.Just a reminder....I'd rehashed a series of posts regarding child trafficking out of Haiti when wikileaks made a connection between Hillary Clinton and that vile Laura Silsby & her "lawyer" Jorge Puello. You can find all those older posts relinked in one wrap up post directly below: Hillary Clinton              Laura Silsby

Wiki Leaks, Clinton Ties to Haiti Child Kidnapping/er Laura Silsby

Using photos and fingerprints, police say they are close to confirming that Mr Torres Puello is the suspect wanted since last year for leading a network that recruited children for prostitution in Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and El Salvador. In the interview with the Miami Herald, his mother confirmed that his wife - Ana Josefa Galvarina Ramirez Orellana - had been convicted in the case and was in jail in San Salvador.Jorge Anibal Torres Puello

“A DIPLOMATIC deal over the 10 American missionaries jailed in Haiti on child abduction charges may lead to the release this week of all except the group's leader, Laura Silsby, according to legal sources in Port-au-Prince.The intervention of Bill Clinton, the former president, who is co-ordinating relief efforts in Haiti, may accelerate the resolution of an affair that has embarrassed the US government, dismayed relief agencies and angered many Haitians who believe their plight is being exploited by unscrupulous foreigners.

During a visit to Port-au-Prince on Friday, Clinton said the Haitian government was "not looking for some big fight. They just want to protect their children ... I think they'll find a way to defuse the crisis".
