On this edition of The Geopolitical Report, we take a look at a plan by President Donald Trump and his generals to expand the number of troops in Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan despite Trump’s previous promise to not meddle in the Middle East. Despite Trump's pledge to get out of Afghanistan, his generals are pushing for an expansion of troops and a military “surge” in the country. We also take a look at Bush's generational war and Dick Cheney's warning that the war on terror will last decades. The Bush Doctrine of aggressive militarism was praised by leading neocons, including Max Boot, William Kristol, Robert Kagan, and John Bolton. Like Obama, Trump has adopted the neocon concept of forever war, but on his own terms.
