He’s guilty! Of being the most incompetent, inept, bungling murderer in the history and annals of American crime. Or the victim of one of the greatest and most intricate conspiracies in the history of setups and frames. His main defense is “How could anyone be that obvious?” And the travesty of Brendan Dassey is incomprehensible. Truly. But warning, this is anything but open and shut. This is a case that is most vexing and troubling on a variety of levels and dimensions. Just when you think the Halbach murder seems cinched, another fact enters gumming up the probative works.
